Application Requirements for Import Export Code (IEC) Registration

• Owned by one person (Proprietorship Firm).
• Owned by a group of people (Partnership Firm).
• A Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
• A big company with shareholders (Limited Company).
• A trust.
• A family business (Hindu Undivided Family – HUF).
• A society.

What You Need Before Applying:

• You need to create an account on the DGFT Portal.
• Your business should already have a PAN (Permanent Account Number).
• You must have a bank account in your business’s name.
• Your business should have a proper address.
• These details will be checked with the Income Tax Department.

Documents Needed to register for Import Export Code (IEC) Registration

• For Proof of Establishment/Incorporation/Registration:
  • If you have a Partnership, Registered Society, Trust, or HUF, you need to give a certificate that shows when your business was set up or registered.
• For Proof of Address:
  • You can use any of these documents to prove your business address: Sale Deed, Rent Agreement, Lease Deed, Electricity Bill, Telephone Landline Bill, Mobile Bill (post-paid), MoU, Partnership Deed.
• For Proprietorship Businesses:
  • If you’re a sole owner, you can use your Aadhar card, Passport, or Voter ID as address proof.
